Title : Sketches Added
Yup, that right! I actually got around to upload a pic or two to the sketches section.
Nothing serious, just some random scribbles I ended up colouring in photoshop.
Hope you like...

Title : Comic - Love for Startcraft
Well, its been a long time coming hasn't it. My life just kinda went and got messed up on me beginning of the year and Paperlizard just wasn't a priority for me during the last few months.
I am just not setup to do a comic every week at the moment, but as they say “Time heals all wounds.” Maybe I can get back to the weekly comic at some stage. So this new strip doesn't mean that the weekly comic is back, I just had some time to kill and I figured a comic would be a nice way to spend it.
So, the comic this week. Well, I have really been neglecting games in general the past few months, partly because of my current situation and partly because I just couldn't find a game that really got my attention. Until one fine Friday afternoon I went to www.blizzard.com to see what the whole question mark thing was about. And behold...STARCRAFT 2 announced. I could hardly contain myself. Finally, the game that in my opinion defined a genre, after 10 years of waiting, we are finally getting a sequel to the best RTS game of all time. So I watch the cinematic and it serves well to encourage my enthusiasm. But then I download the 490Mb game play trailer and...sorry...words fail me, please allow me to wipe the tear from my eye. Its...beautiful...

Title : Comic - Some Guild Wars Love
Well, another week has surprised us by popping up a lot sooner than we expected.
Yes ladies and gentleman, believe it or not, we are now in the third week of the new year already and this year has certainly kicked off with a bang as far as work is concerned.
I have finally gotten around to giving my Guild Wars account some love again. I haven't played Guild Wars for some time now and I must say it is a lot of fun to be back and kicking some monster butt. I got myself the Nightfall expansion and started up a Dervish character. At first I thought they were only good as support characters but after reaching level 20 and playing on the mainland a bit I have come to realize just how cool they really are. A great new addition to Guild Wars is of course the heros. You now have heros that can level up with you and you can even customize their builds. This is a big step up from the dumbass henchman in Prophecies and Factions.
So today I feel I need to add some Guild Wars humor. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the elementalist characters look really...erm...whats that word...feminine :)
Enjoy the comic...

Title : Comic - Back to work nightmares!
Well, it is a new year and the whole world seems to be returning from holiday. The traffic is slowly picking up again and life in good old Gauteng is returning to normal. I really wasn't in the mood to go back to work last week, I really didn't have much of a rest this festive season, and I haven't had a proper vacation in more than 2 years. So you can imagine I was rather reluctant to go back to work knowing full well just how much work actually awaited me when I got back. I even had nightmares about it, maybe not exactly like portrayed in the comic strip, but nightmares non the less.
But its like I always tell myself...'It pays the bills!'.
We all need to work to make a living, and this year I decided to do just that. I will no longer live to work, but work to live. Work hard while at the office, but start clocking off at more reasonable times and try to have a live out side of work. I even started playing pool...wheee...
Enjoy the comic...

Title : Comic - Geek on the beach
First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May 2007 be the best year ever, and may the new year bring nothing but joy, peace, wealth and love. And may you stick to whatever new years resolution you make.
Well, I could have followed along with every other on-line comic out there and have done a comic about the new year, but I'll leave that for later. For now, this week its just a little strip about holidays by the sea. Yup, keep the geeks off the beach, you never know what trouble they might get into being out there in the real world. Apparently the rules are a bit different from the rules we live by on our computers...so I've heard :)
Enjoy...

Title : Comic - Dem Spectacles
Well, the good news is its getting nearer and nearer to Christmas everyday. You really start to feel it when you simply can't go anywhere anymore. By this I mean shopping malls. They are a nightmare, you can't walk, can't turn your bum without bumping into someone, and everyone is rude to you. From the shop assistants right down to the old lady who just bumped into you. Its really sad to see. People are missing the point and have forgotten what Christmas is really about. And no I am not just talking about the faith aspect of it, even if you don't believe in God like I do, it is still supposed to be a time of peace, happiness and family.
But enough of that, lets get to this weeks comic. Nothing really to explain about it. Tommie (one of my friends at the office) just got a new pair of spectacles, and one of the lenses are really thick as he has problems with his right eye. Now, there is nothing special about wearing glasses, I wear glasses most of the time and so does Coenie. But being the bunch of misfits that we are, we have been taking the piss out of him about it...just a little bit :)
So, obviously it gave me some meterial for this weeks comic...enjoy!

Title : Comic - Overworked symptoms
Another week has come and gone all too fast. There never seems to be enough time for all the work that has to be done. The corporate world is like a big roller coaster, once your on, your on, and you are not getting off.
But on the bright side...Christmas is just over the horizon, with family, food and presents. Personally I love Christmas, no not the commercial side, just the family side. ok, and the food, I love the food :)
So, to the comic, well...because I have been spending so much time in front of a PC screen its really starting to feel like my eyes are giving up on me. The other day I could not focus for more than 15 minutes, when I looked at the screen, it just kept jumping up and down. This really made me think about what could be next...
Ok, it hasn't come to this just yet, but hey, it could very easily.
Enjoy the comic...

Title : Comic - Perfect gaming platform
There are a lot of articles and hype all over the internet about our next generation of gaming consoles. Everybody is telling you that their console is the best and you will surely die if you do not buy it. So I was actually having a look at the latest consoles, and to me the only 2 choices really was the PS3 or the Wii. For some strange reason I am not really attracted to the XBox. Maybe if the start offering it free on cell phone contracts I will get one, but only to play Gears of War :)
But after seeing what those damn PS3's are going for, I am very worried about what the retail price will be once it hits our sunny shores. Lets see, a $500 graphics card launches here for R 6000, hmm...who wants to bet the PS3 is gonna be in the region of 6-7K? Ouch...and then +-R500-600 a game...hmm...
All things considered, to me personally, the PC is still the best gaming platform around. I get to run my games at 1280x1024 on my 17" LCD and all is well in the world. I mean the PC is so much cheaper, I don't think its a cent over 15K...hehe, maybe a bit more cause of my 1900XTX :)
Anyway, long live the PC and enjoy the comic (might get the Wii though :)

Title : Comic - Secret to success : Perseverance
So, the last weeks have been extremely hectic. Working late etc. But in between all this our company also divided into different teams to raise some extra money for our year end function. We have been doing a few team activities over the last few month just to add some spice to our everyday office lives.
The team who managed to make the most money for the event was promised a prize, and as we all know, the minute their is a prize involved people start getting really competitive. So obviously, being the bad loser that I am, my team and I decided that loosing was not an option. And once all the activities were done, I could just not wait to know if we won or not, so obviously I kept bugging the committee to try and find out if we won.
I have to say it was a lot of fun and my hats of to the wellness committee for organizing all the team events and making it a lot of fun for everyone. At the end of the day, our year end function was also amazing and a huge success.

Title : Comic - Taking a break!
It is all just getting to much now and I really need a break.
So I am very sorry to all my reader but this week you will have to forgive me and take this filler image I did as their will be no comic this week.
I had to move all my stuff out of the spare room this week because its time my baby got her own room. So I was basically without a PC this weekend. I have also been working late every night for the past 3 weeks so their is no time during the week either.
So please forgive me this week...the fillter looks nice though hey?

Title : Freight
Wow, this guy contacted after seeing my link on Critters and Comics. I had a look at his site and I must say, he is really really good. Sort of a dark futuristic feel to it, and the story is very solid and the artwork is very very good.
Go check them out here... http://www.freight-online.co.za/index.html

Title : Comic - Authentic Experience (NFS Carbon)
Yippy. I finally got around to playing Need for Speed Carbon this weekend. I got it on Wednesday already, but I have been working late every night so I didn't get a chance to play during the week. I must admit I really enjoy the latest installment in the Need for Speed saga. I am really glad they brought back drifting, it is something I really missed in Need for Speed Most Wanted. The canyon races are really challenging and the whole idea of controlling certain areas is a welcome new addition.
Overall, I like it. It is more of the same action packed racing but with some new ideas just to spice things up again.
I will be working late all week again, so I will only be able to play again over the weekend :(
Well, atleast I got the comic done through all the chaos...so enjoy!

Title : Comic - Extreme Cooling
Hey everyone, a new week as crept up on us and another working week awaits us all. My wife is back this week so I am a whole person again :)
So back to business, for all you PC enthusiasts out there, this is for you. If you have ever over clocked anything hardware related and had to adjust your cooling solution, added more fans or even water cooling, you must have at one time at least thought about somehow using a fridge or at least a compressor to cool your beast of PC. Well, at least I have...
I have always wondered what would happen if I did, and seeing as my wife was away last week, I really did think of just how I could actually do it. But luckily common sense kicked in and my wife return to a normal (yet somewhat dirty) house :)
Enjoy...

Title : Comic - Useless facts
Well, better late then never I always say. Sorry the comic is so late this week, but I still made my Monday deadline. I had a very hectic weekend and on top of that, the little time I did have I just drew a blank. I had nothing to say and not a single joke to tell. Luckily today everything returned to normal and as promised you Monday comic is ready for you enjoyment.
This week you will notice I experimented on the characters a bit. I made their eyes a bit bigger to make expressions a bit easier. I also made their faces a bit longer to give me more space to work with the expressions. Let me know what you think!
Have you ever had someone read you their e-mail or useless websites and you really didn't care, but the person just kept reading anyway... ...well...neither have I, but Coenie has experienced it and he says its very frustrating. I wonder who he was talking about...
Anyway, for those of you who have experienced it, enjoy...

Title : Comic - Fun with portals
Well, like everyone else I just can't wait for the release of Half-Life 2 Ep 2. For two reasons... one...Team Fortress...and two, which is the most important, PORTALS!!!
I you have not seen the portal videos and gotten excited then there is something seriously wrong with you. Puzzle solving with a portal gun. I have a feeling that it is going to keep me up very late at night.
So, being this excited I was thinking about what weird fun you could have as Gordon Freeman if you had a portal gun to harass the Combine with. And this is one of the first things I came up with. If you have any other weird and wonderful thoughts about how to have fun with the portal gun, send me a mail and maybe your idea will make my next comic.
